Ervin Joe Hubik, age 68, of Hubbard, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at his residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. in Penelope, with Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mr. Hubik was born August 28, 1943 in Hubbard, the son of Joe George and Hermina "Hattie" (Dudik) Hubik. He attended schools in Hubbard and was a graduate of Hubbard High School. Ervin was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He enjoyed raising animals, fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of the Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. in Penelope. Ervin is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Matula. Survivors include a sister, Georgia Hutyra of Hillsboro; nieces and nephews, Patrick Hutyra and wife Misty of Kilgore, Toby Matula and wife Luann of Penelope, Darlene Neill and husband Jimmy of Abbott, Cynthia Hudson and husband Kelly of Bedford, and Susie Hejl and husband Willie of Abbott; many great nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Patrick Hutyra, Jimmy Neill, Willie Hejl, Kelly Hudson and Toby Matula. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. in Penelope.
