Ermin A. Vrba, age 86, of Sherman, formerly of West, passed away January 5, 2013 in Sherman. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West by Janice Kaluza. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by the West Veterans Honor Guard. Ermin was born February 9, 1926 in Mt. Calm, the son of John and Rozina (Macicek) Vrba. He attended school in Tours. He served his country with the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. On February 4, 1956 he was united in marriage to Annie Rose Kapczynski in West. Ermin was a farmer and begin a career with Burlington Industries in West prior to moving with the company to Sherman in 1968. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Sherman. He enjoyed listening to Czech music, working in his garden and on home projects, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ermin is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Jerry Vrba, Johnny Vrba, Joe Vrba, Ben Vrba and infant Frank Vrba; and three sisters, Angeline Uptmore, Albina Sykora and Georgia Howell. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Annie Vrba of Sherman; a son, Ermin "Tony" Vrba Jr. of Sherman; a daughter, Donna Mobley and husband Mark of Allen; brother, Stanley Vrba Sr. and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Meagan Naramore and husband Michael, Ben Mobley and wife Megan and Zack Mobley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Ben Mobley, Zack Mobley, Scott Kapczynski, Stanley Vrba Jr, Kenneth Schuetze and Ronald Howell. Honorary pallbearers are Jerome Polansky, James Neckar, and Ted Uptmore.
