Emory Lee Clark, age 80 of West, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 15, 2013 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Military Graveside Rites will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. Friday until service time. Emory was born October 15, 1932 in Mobile, Alabama the son of James and Leeana (Chason) Clark. He graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. He then attended Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida, the University of South Alabama in Mobile Alabama, and the College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas. He entered the United States Navy in June of 1951 and served until February of 1974 when he retired as a Machinery Repairman Chief Petty Officer. While in the Navy he served in both Korea and Vietnam. On December 31, 1955 he was united in marriage to Lucille (Smith) Clark in Lucedale, Mississippee. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and especially enjoyed listening to many different types of music. Emory is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, J.W. Clark Jr; and an infant sister. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Lucille Clark of West; four sons, Richard Smith and wife Jeane of El Dorado, California, Emory Lee Clark Jr. of San Antonio, Dave Clark of Houston and John Clark and wife Dianna of Ranger; a daughter, Christie Clark and husband James "Piggy" Clark of West; a brother, Ricky Clark and wife Carol; two sisters, Annie Louise Burt and husband Beryl, and Linda Breward; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
