Emily Rose Hutyra, age 13, of West, passed away early Thursday morning, February 7, 2008. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West by Janice Kaluza. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Emily was born on August 3, 1994 in Austin, the daughter of Thomas and Janice (Poehls) Hutyra. She was a special needs child who warmed the hearts of her family and the nurses from Interim Healthcare. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Assumption in West. Survivors include her parents, Thomas and Janice Hutyra of West; one sister, Ann Hutyra Lozano and husband Frank of Laredo; two brothers, Stephen Hutyra of West and Joseph Hutyra of Hurlbert Field, FL; grandparents, Emil and Marilyn Hutyra of Tours and Albin and Adele Poehls of West; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Active pallbearers will be Patrick Poehls, Jerry Hutyra, Charlie Hutyra, Matthew Hutyra, Anthony Hutyra and Richard Hutyra. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
