Mrs. Fred (Emily) Plsek, age 89, of West, passed away early Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2005 at St. Catherine Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Vincent Chacko, I.M.S. as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Plsek was born on August 7, 1915 in Hungerford, the daughter of Filip and Frances (Malina) Bilek. She attended schools in the Tokio and Penelope areas. On November 7, 1940, she was united in marriage to Fred Charles Plsek in West. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1964. She worked as a clerk for Old Corner Drug in West and a ticket salesperson at the Heart of Texas Speedway for many years. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Emily was very active in the community and in her spare time enjoyed playing bingo and working in her garden. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court #829, K.J.Z.T. Society #11, and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Her parents, one brother, nine sisters and a granddaughter, Tracy Adamcik, all precede her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Adamcik and husband Eugene of Waco and Helen Morris and husband Chuck of Alexandria, Ohio; one sister, Billie Navratil of West; four grandchildren, Andy Adamcik and fiance Beth Agan, D. D. Oberhelman and husband Don, Melissa Green and husband Brett and Christina Longbine and husband Jerry; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several other relatives. Pallbearers will be Tony Chudej, Bob Plsek, Louis Kramr Jr., Andy Adamcik, Jerry Prasifka and Vincent Tobola. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center.
