Emilie Lednicky

Emilie M. Lednicky, age 92, of West, passed away late Friday evening, November 26, 2005 in Waco. A rosary will be recited 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:15 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Emilie was born on July 22, 1913 in Tours, the daughter of Frank and Matilda (Zatopek) Petter. She married Henry M. Lednicky on August 21, 1934 in West. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1989. Emilie was a homemaker and a seamstress for Lorch Manufacturing Company, before becoming a clerk for The Village Shoppe for many years before retiring in 1995. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family. Emilie was a member of the Catholic Daughter of America Court No. 829 and K.J.Z.T. Society No 11. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption for most of her life. A daughter Doris Marie Lednicky, a son, Henry Frank Lednicky, four brothers, and a sister also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, W.E. "Gene" Lednicky of Waco and Edwin Lednicky and wife Linda of Chalk Bluff; a special niece, Mary Kallus; a special friend, Dorothy Ann Lednicky; five grandchildren, Clayton Lednicky and wife Leslie, Regina Nix and husband Mark, Jeffrey Lednicky and wife Sarah, Sherry Gaither and husband Don, and Jason Lednicky and wife Jacque; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Austin Gaither and another on the way; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and freinds. Pallbearers will be Jason Lednicky, Don Gaither, Clayton Lednicky, Jeffrey Lednicky, Mark Nix, and Tommy Petter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center of the charity of your choice.
