Elsie Gaidusek, age 91, of Lacy Lakeview, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 12, 2022 at her residence. A rosary will be recited and funeral service held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Darrell Kostiha officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Elsie was born December 10, 1930 in Lott, the daughter of Philip and Clara (Holtman) Hoelscher. She attended schools in Westphalia and was a graduate of Westphalia High School. In February of 1951 she was united in marriage to Bernard Lee Gaidusek in Westphalia. Bernard preceded her in death on August 11, 2007. Following her marriage, she attended St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and was presently a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. Elsie was also a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America Court #1729. She was a homemaker, mother, owned a restaurant in West, was a farmer, and worked for the Lacy Lakeview school cafeteria, Waco Apparel, and Transgraphics in Waco before she retired. Elsie enjoyed taking trips to Florida, quilting, making kolaches, sewing, tending to her flower garden and was known to have a "green thumb". She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Elsie is also preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Bernadine Waltisperger and Kathy Lillard; a grandson, Kevin Gaidusek; a sister, Gladys Kostiha; and brothers, Ruben Hoelscher, Roy Hoelscher, and Melvin Hoelscher. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Johnson and her husband Roger of West, Janice Gaidusek of Lacy Lakeview, Jo Ann Gaidusek of Robinson, and Sharon Dyer of Robinson; a son, Tom Gaidusek and his wife Terri of West; a sister, Geraldine "Gerrie" Hecker; grandchildren, David Walker, Dale Johnson and fiancée Christina, Ricky Johnson and wife Megan, Allen Gaidusek and wife Nora, Destiny Dyer, Robert Cox, Tonya Reed and husband Drew, Crystal Deaver, Michelle Gaidusek, and Jared Waltisperger; her great grandchildren, Levi, Colton, Zach, Nero, Waylon, Daniel, Darren, Kindra, Daylon, and Remi; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Allen Gaidusek, David Walker, Dale Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Robert Cox, Daniel Lang and Jared Waltisperger. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
