Elsie Dvorak

Elsie Dvorak, age 77, of West, passed away Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest in Waco. A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at all services. Elsie was born October 9, 1943 in Penelope, the daughter of John and Olga (Machac) Mraz. She was a 1963 graduate of Penelope High School. On July 1, 1967 she was united in marriage to Joe Dvorak in Penelope. She was a homemaker and a mother to their four children. Elsie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of KJZT Society #35. Elsie enjoyed watching westerns, cooking, tending to her garden, and canning vegetables. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Elsie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerome Mraz, John Mraz, George Mraz, and Theodore Mraz; and a sister, Mildred Garrison. Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Joe Dvorak of West; her children, Mark Dvorak and wife Charla of West, Tina Janke and husband Greg of Clifton, Molly Gerik and husband John of Abbott, and Anita Murphy and husband Jason of Abbott; sisters, Dorothy Dvorak and Mary Ann Dvorak; grandchildren, Jessica Brown and husband Chad, Ryan Teague and wife Audrey, Edward Teague, Chase Janke, Lauren Gerik, Kyle Gerik, Will Gerik, Allison Murphy, Madison Murphy, and Bryson Murphy; great-grandchildren, Brayden Brown, Briley Brown, Levi Teague, Lainey Teague, and Lincoln Teague; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Greg Janke, John Gerik, Jason Murphy, Ryan Teague, Edward Teague and Kyle Gerik. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Association or St. Mary's Church for Masses.
