Elsie Pearl Deiterman, age 88, of Waco, formerly of West, passed away late Saturday evening, July 9, 2005 at a Waco nursing home. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Mrs. Deiterman was born July 19, 1916 in Teague, the daughter of John H. and Ida (Goodall) Rhyne. She attended schools in Teague before moving to Waco where she went to work as a legal secretary for Judge John Cabiness. She then became co-owner and manager of Uncle Dan's Rib House for over 20 years before retiring in 1977. Elsie then married Clement Deiterman on September 29, 1979 in West. They made their home in West until he passed away on October 22, 1999. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Elsie enjoyed being with family and especially loved to cook. Survivors include two sons, Wallace Combest and his wife Peggy and Glenn Combest and his wife Kaye, all of Waco; three grandchildren, Dr. Sally Combest Avalos and her husband Joe Avalos, Abby Combest, and Becky Burkett; two great grandchildren, Daniel Avalos and Racheal Avalos; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center.
