Elizabeth Liz Hejl

Elizabeth "Liz" Hejl, age 82, of Ross, passed away early Saturday morning, September 2, 2017 at West Rest Haven in West. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with David Snipes officiating. Private interment will be held at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Liz was born May 13, 1935 in Penelope the daughter of Frances (Cvikel) and A.P. Matus Sr. She attended West High School and 4-C Business College prior to obtaining her Cosmetology License. On October 10, 1954 she was united in marriage to William J. "Bill" Hejl in Bellmead. Bill preceded her in death on October 9, 1989. Liz was a homemaker, Mother and operated the Ross Beauty Shop for 15 years and the Country Greenhouse in Ross before retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead. Liz was also a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America Court #829. She enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, fishing and camping. She especially loved spending time with her family. Liz is also preceded in death by her parents; brother, A.P. Matus Jr.; and sisters, Hattie Griffin, Louise Johnson, Frances Wills, Mary Joe Marek and Betty Pareya. Survivors include her sons, Bill Hejl and wife Cathy of Ross and Mark Hejl and wife Lisa of Aquilla; grandchildren, Kyle Hejl and wife Christina, Kevin Hejl and wife Chandler, Kristen Hejl and Lauren Hejl; a great grandson, Rennin; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ross Volunteer Fire Department.
