Elizabeth Mary Kolar, age 86, of West, passed away Wednesday morning, February 7, 2018 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. David Trahan as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Elizabeth was born October 14, 1931 in West, the daughter of Charlie and Sophie (Dudik) Fillip. She attended schools in Tokio and West. On August 2, 1952 she was united in marriage to Adolph J. Kolar in West. Adolph preceded her in death on September 10, 2006. Elizabeth was a baker and waitress working in many establishments in West including, Jessie's Tavern, where she met Adolph, Village Bakery, Ole Czech Bakery and the Pizza House before retiring in 2010. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Elizabeth was also a member of the KJZT Society #11. She enjoyed sewing, baking, playing dominoes and working word puzzles. She loved spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren. Elizabeth is also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Kelly Payne; brothers, Henry Fillip and Alphonce Fillip; and sisters, Helen Ives, Christine Scheler Landers and Julia Gordon. Survivors include her children, Rose Mary Payne and husband James of Whitney, Joyce Wood and husband James of Alvarado, Adolph Kolar and wife Rene of West and Frankie Kolar and wife Denise of Mt. Calm; a sister, Eleanor Raabe; grandchildren, Jason Payne, Tonya Kolar, Janna Roller and husband Andy, Justin Wood, Jamie Wood, Kadale Kolar and fiance Emily Shumaker, Bree Kolar, and Neil Burton; great grandchildren, Nykolas, Madelyn, Dominic, Braxton and Daxton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are her Grandsons and Godsons, Rudy Kolar, David Kolar, Ricky Kolar, Randy Kolar, Justin Wood, Kadale Kolar and Jason Payne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West League Booster Club or the charity of your choice.
