Eleanora Snider

Eleanora Julia Snider, age 90, of West, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, December 28, 2011 surrounded by all of her children at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Eleanora was born November 23, 1921 in Tours, the middle child of Fred and Annie (Barak) Polansky. She attended schools in the Tours, Ross and the Watt area. On November 16, 1948 she was united in marriage to Edward J. Snider in Waco. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2010. Eleanora was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She also worked as a switchboard operator for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 3 years. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church where she was on the parish council and helped with all the picnics. She was a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead and the K.J.Z.T. Society No. 45 in Tours. She enjoyed working at Geneva Hall, helping with the Ex-POW Association and going fishing with her husband, Edward. She loved doing needlecraft, canning, sewing, playing dominoes, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Eleanora is also preceded in death by her parents, a great grandson, Turner Uptmor, two brothers, Raymond Polansky and Walter Polansky; and four sisters, Martha Willig, Lillian Rippengal, Helen Wright and Lucille Flaherty. Survivors include a son, Edward Snider Jr. and wife Helen of West; three daughters, Rose Ann Chudej and Sonya Adamson and her husband Miles "PeeWee", all of West, and Donna Emmert and husband Edwin of Ennis; a brother, Sam Polansky and wife Willie Mae; three sisters, Evelyn Olsovsky and husband Louie, Nancy Brinkley and husband Dean and Joanne Breeland; 10 grandchildren, Shane Snider, Shannon Snider and fiance Matt, Kim Uptmor, Scott Chudej, Dr. Eric Chudej and fiance Kristi, Joshua Adamson, Hilary Clark and husband Samuel, Hugh Emmert, Landon Emmert, and Heath Emmert; 6 great grandchildren, Tanner, Tate, and Emerson Uptmor, Cooper Adamson, Coleton Clark and Jacob Claridy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Shane Snider, Scott Chudej, Dr. Eric Chudej, Joshua Adamson, Hugh Emmert, Landon Emmert, Heath Emmert, and Dr. Samuel Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Shannon Snider, Kim Uptmor, and Hilary Clark. Memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or St. Martin's Cemetery Association.
