Eleanor Mynarcik

Eleanor (Hlavenka) Mynarcik, age 87, of West, passed away late Sunday night, September 16, 2012 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mrs. Mynarcik was born January 20, 1925 in West, the daughter of William "Bill" and Olga (Winkler) Hlavenka. She attended St. Mary's School and graduated from West High School prior to entering 4-C Business College in Waco. On November 25, 1947 she was united in marriage to Louis A. Mynarcik Sr. in West. Eleanor was a secretary for the C.H. Cox Candy Company and Cox Real Estate Company. She also worked for the George Bone Insurance and Rental Company in Waco, West Hardware and the Ben Franklin Store in West. Eleanor was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. Society #11 and St. Anne's Altar Society. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, tending her flower beds, canning and sewing. She especially loved to cook for family meals and was known for her special chicken noodle soup, homemade apple pie and pickles. Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Hlavenka; brothers-in-law, Dan Mynarcik and William "Bill" Mynarcik; and a sister-in-law, Victoria Cvikel. Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, Louis Mynarcik Sr. of West; a daughter, Ellouise Anderson of West; a son, Louis Mynarcik Jr. and wife Tonja "Sissy" of Lorena; grandchildren, Nathan John Mynarcik and wife Jodi (Prianti) and Raychel Maria Mynarcik; a brother-in-law, Joseph Mynarcik and wife Marie; sisters-in-law, Gladys Hlavenka, Agnes Zatopek and husband Adolph, Rosemary Mynarcik, and Lillie Jane Popp and husband Kenneth; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Bill Hlavenka, Joey Hlavenka, Nathan Mynarcik, Robert Mynarcik, Joey Mynarcik and Danny Mynarcik. Honorary pallbearers are nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, or to the charity of your choice.
