Eleanor Frances (Fickey) Layne, age 72, of Waco, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 13, 2005 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours, with Rev. Ed Newman officiating. Mrs. Layne was born December 14, 1932 in Elk, the daughter of Frank and Eleanor (Pospisil) Fickey. She attended school at Sacred Heart Academy in Waco. She was a seamstress for Wolf Manufacturing in Waco for over 30 years before retiring in 1993. She was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her children and their families. She also loved her dogs and read her Bible daily. Her parents; infant sons, Michael Layne and Robby Layne; and a granddaughter, Kirsten Layne; three brothers, Edward Fickey, Frank Fickey Jr., and Jimmy Fickey; all preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Jordan of Waco; three sons, Paul Layne and his wife Gilda of Converse, Rick Layne and his wife Cathy of Waco, and Marc Layne and his fiance Denee Smith of Dallas; a son-in-law, Marty Jordan of Waco; a brother, Tom Fickey and his wife Darlene of China Spring; a sister Allean Uptmor and her husband Norman of Alvarado; grandchildren, Janice Marney and her husband Joseph, Scott Layne, Derek Layne, Brenden Layne, Krista Layne, Aaron Layne, Christopher Layne, Tevin Layne, Sophia Layne, and Willie Davis; twin great grandsons, Brett and Brent Marney; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to the Full Gospel Assembly Church or Friends for Life.
