Eldon Pavelka, Jr.

Eldon James Pavelka, Jr., age 65, of Round Rock, formerly of West, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 17, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Burial will follow at Pavelka Cemetery near Elk. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Eldon was born May 21, 1952 in Waco, the son of Dorothea (Glaser) and Eldon Pavelka, Sr. At a young age of twelve he had open heart surgery performed by the renowned Dr. Debakey and Dr. Cooley heart surgeons. He attended West schools and was a 1970 graduate of West High School prior to attending the University of Houston. On April 7, 1984 he was united in marriage to Marlene Rosser in Waco. Eldon was an electronics designer and worked for various companies including, Waco Communications, Helena Laboratories in Beaumont, Dell Computers, Advent Networks and Bench tree, all in Austin. He has been credited as a inventor on various patents in the medical equipment industry. He enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator (WA5WOS), astronomy, electronics and was an avid reader. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson. His favorite past time conversations included undesigned designs and string theory. He will be remembered as being highly intelligent, a great son, great husband, loving dad, inspirational brother and a caring and helping friend. Survivors include his wife, Marlene Pavelka of Round Rock; a son, Eldon James Pavelka III and wife Chrystina of Bellevue, Nebraska; a daughter, Brooks Pavelka of Round Rock; a grandson, Eldon "L.J." Pavelka; his parents, Dorothea and Eldon Pavelka Sr. of West; a brother, Mark Pavelka and wife Lisa of West; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Fred Mechell, Paul Pavelka, Donnie Pavelka, Randy Pavelka, Amber Pavelka and Crystal Pavelka. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for his daughter, Brooks.
