Edwin Sonny Grones

Edwin "Sonny" Grones, age 68, of Abbott, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2013 at his residence. No services will be held at Edwin's request. Edwin was born January 19, 1945 in Abbott, the son of Adolph and Frances Marie (Tichavsky) Grones. He attended Abbott schools. He served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany and worked as a communication Specialist. He was discharge at the rank of Specialist E4 in 1966 after three years of service. Edwin worked for Prestressed Concrete in Elm Mott from 1976 until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Edwin enjoyed ballroom dancing. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Patricia Grones Survivors include two sisters, Margie Higginbotham of Valley Mills and Frances Mings and husband of Higgins; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the charity of your choice.
