Edward V. Mynar age 87, of West, passed away late Saturday evening, October 31, 2009 at West Rest Haven. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery conducted by West VFW Post #4819. Mr. Mynar was born July 2, 1922 in West, the son of Joseph and Mary (Marek) Mynar. He attended St. Mary's school. Edward entered the United States Army in 1942 and served with Company H of the 381st Infantry during World War II. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal in 1946. On June 20, 1950 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Kessler in Penelope. Edward was a farmer and did road construction for Southwestern Contracting Company for 14 years, before retiring in 1970. He then became a meat processor for Nemecek Brothers Meat Market for 27 years. Edward was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, playing bingo and gambling trips to Louisiana. Edward was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4819, American Legion Post No. 478 and K.J.T. Society No. 31. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Eddie Joe Mynar and Thomas Mynar; three brothers, Joe Mynar, John Mynar and Frankie Mynar; and four sisters, Rosie Urbish, Mary Lander, Frances Chase and Annie Mynar. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary Lou Mynar; one son, Patrick Mynar and special friend Susan of West; five daughters, Cathy Matus and husband David, Lori Neckar and husband David, Monica Kaska and husband Alfons, Jeanette Maler and husband Kevin, and Annette Hykel and husband Victor, all of West; two daughters-in-law, Dorothy Mynar Reinke and husband Danny of Waco and Frances Mynar of Smithville; four sisters, Josephine Smith of Dallas, Agnes Atkins and husband Cecil, Lillie Hromadka and husband Raymond, and Willie Mae Cervenka, all of West; four sisters-in-law, Lillie Mynar of West, Georgia Cassano and husband Vince of Dawson, Irene Berger of Mart, and Doris Kessler of Lorena; ten grandchildren, Melissa Kubitza and husband Joe, John David Matus and wife Kitten, James Michael Matus and wife Rachel, Chad Neckar and wife Rachel, Ashley Neckar, Jennifer Buchanan and husband Rob, Michelle Holecek and husband Tanner, Brian Kaska and wife Misty, Tanner Hykel and Lexi Maler; four great-grandchildren, Cambri, Jordyn, Claire and Brody; four step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; and many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are the grandsons, John David Matus, James Michael Matus, Chad Neckar, Brian Kaska, Tanner Hykel and Rob Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
