Edward Lee Stacy, age 83, of West, passed away Thursday evening, May 29, 2008 in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the West Church of Christ with Minister Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Edward Lee was born on October 4, 1924 in Aquilla, the son of John and Virgie Mae (Minnix) Stacy. He attended Tokio School, West High School, and the University of Texas in Austin. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corp, stationed in Italy and North Africa. On May 5, 1946, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Sparkman in Dallas. Edward Lee worked for General Tire and Rubber Co. for 20 years, and owned and operated Stacy Welding, Stacy Realty, and the West Car Wash, all in West. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing 42, rummy, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Edward Lee was a very faithful member of the West Church of Christ since 1954, where he was very active and served as Deacon and Elder for over 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Diana Dumas; and a son, Mike Stacy. Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Ann Stacy of West; one son, Gary Dean Stacy and wife Glenda of Rowlett; a daughter-in-law, Jan Nash and husband Doug of Carollton; a son-in-law, Ralph Dumas and wife Jeanene of Grand Prairie; one half-brother, Albert Brooks; four half-sisters, Lois Loo, Dorothy Bowman, Shirley Harkness, and Sheila Cordero; six grandchildren, Jason Dumas and wife Mattisa, Justin Dumas and wife Rachel, Tim Stacy, Michelle Stacy Stevens and husband David, Amanda Stacy, and Shane Stacy; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Joshua, and Chloe Stevens and Jase and Diana Dumas; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers will be Jason Dumas, Justin Dumas, Tim Stacy, David Stevens, Shane Stacy, Doug Nash and Ralph Dumas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, West Volunteer Ambulance Association, or the West Church of Christ.
