Edward J. Soukup

Edward J. Soukup, age 64, of West, passed away late Thursday evening, April 2, 2015 at Crestview Healthcare Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Paul Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Edward was born October 5, 1950 near West, the son of George and Albina (Picha) Soukup. He attended St. Mary's and West High School. Edward worked as a plumber for Jacobs-Cathey in Waco, Moses Plumbing Company and builder Ronnie Symank. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He enjoyed working on cars, gambling, snow skiing, and visiting with friends. Edward is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George A. Soukup. Survivors include a daughter, Janie Beheler and husband Scott of West; two sisters, Irene Peterson and husband Milton of Malone and Ann Berger of West; a sister-in-law, Elleen Soukup; two grandsons, Tristan and Tracen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Dale Berger, Brian Berger, Kevin Brown, Stephen Symank, Dennis Symank and Kenneth Peterson. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Symank, Henry Urban, Karen Urban and Tristan Gonzalez. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or West Sokol.
