Eddie Lewis, age 76, of Abbott, passed away Monday evening, August 9, 2021, at West Rest Haven. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at First Baptist Church of West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Eddie was born December 26, 1944 in Decatur, the son of Charles and Evelynn (Washburn) Lewis. He was a 1963 graduate of Arlington Heights High School. Eddie also attended Baylor University receiving a Bachelors in Music in 1967, and Southwest Seminary receiving a Masters of Divinity in Music. On June 23, 1993, he was united in marriage to Melanie Tipping in Jamaica. Eddie was a member of First Baptist Church in Richardson. He was also a member of Vocal Majority and Baylor Alumni. He worked for A T & T in Richardson for many years before retiring in 2018. Eddie enjoyed trying new recipes, cooking for everyone, traveling and fishing every chance he was able to. He had a special gift of music and enjoyed singing, writing the lyrics to songs, and playing the piano. He was an avid sports fan of all Baylor sports, the Dallas Cowboys, Duke Basketball, and Liverpool soccer. Eddie loved God, family and his country and especially cherished time spent with his family. He was the most patient, nicest man any person could meet and will be dearly missed by all. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Lewis; and a brother, Tommy Lewis. Survivors include his beloved wife of 28 years, Melanie Lewis of Abbott; son, Kemper Lewis and wife Laura of Buffalo, NY; daughter, Heather Lewis and partner Kelly of Milo, ME; step sons, Eric Pustejovsky and wife Channa, Scott Pustejovsky, and Kyle Pustejovsky and wife Sayla; grandchildren, Kamryn & Kaden Lewis, Brayden & Kadence Pustejovsky, Jordan & Michael Pustejovsky, and John Pustejovsky; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Steve Tipping, Jason Wilson, Will Tipping, Jordan Pustejovsky, Michael Pustejovsky, and Brayden Pustejovsky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jeremy "JT" Tipping Memorial Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 126, Rio Vista, Texas 76093.
