Dwayne Young

Dwayne Michael Young, age 60, of West, passed away early Friday afternoon, February 4, 2022 at his residence. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Dwayne was born October 5, 1961 in Waco, the son of the late Charlie and Josephine (Sulak) Young. He attended West schools and was a 1980 graduate of West High School. On October 1, 1994 he was united in marriage to Christine Engelke in West. Dwayne was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He owned and operated Dwayne's Electric for the past 27 years. Dwayne was a simple man who enjoyed fishing, and being an electrician. He loved spending time with his family, especially riding in the pasture with his grandchildren. Survivors include his beloved wife of 28 years, Christine Young of West; his daughter, Kerri and Jason Walpole of Gholson; sons, Jeremy and Stephanie Sterling of Gholson and Coleton Watson; siblings, Charlotte and Rob Howard, Rodney and Rebecca Young, and Timothy Young; grandchildren, Savannah Walpole, Jaycie Walpole, Alyssa Sterling, Braden Sterling, Brailey Sterling, Cooper Sterling, Jason Brown, and Jayden Watson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Brock Bordner, Dustin Wells, Tommy Buzbee, Eddie Sulak, Wesley Hughes, and Chris Ferguson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ALS Association of Texas or Amedisys Foundation.
