Dwaine Snokhous

February 28, 1950 — June 22, 2023

Dwaine Henry Snokhous, age 73, of West, passed away early Thursday morning, June 22, 2023 at his residence in West.


A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. John Boiko as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West, conducted by West Veterans Honor Guard.


Dwaine was born February 28, 1950 in Waco, the son of Henry "Hambone" and Elsie (Dolezal) Snokhous. He attended St. Mary's School and was a 1968 graduate of West High School. Dwaine proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West where he had been very active in the Men's Acts Retreats. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #2305 in West and the Paralyzed Veterans Association. Dwaine worked for Central Texas Frame & Alignment for 40 years until his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, mowing grass, Bar-B-Qing, and working with his son and grandsons on automobiles. Dwaine loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all of his family.


Dwaine is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Snokhous; and a brother, Timothy Snokhous.


Survivors include his children, Dana Peterson and Joey Jaska of Penelope, Becky McGee and husband Chad of China Spring, and Matt Snokhous of West; his cherished grandchildren, Madison Halamik, Camryn Halamik, Cody Janek, Colby Skarpa, and Lauren McGee; great grandchildren, Zachary Glaesmann and Z'yla Griffin; sisters, Judy Knapek and Jackie Neill and husband Robert; brothers, Eddie Snokhous and Gary Snokhous and wife Shelly; a sister-in-law, Cindy Snokhous; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Pallbearers are Michael Weinberger, Colby Skarpa, Joey Jaska, Wesley Webb, Dalton Lucien, and Kadell Suggs.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to help with his funeral expenses.
