Duane Edward Thuerauf, age 64, of Abbott, passed away early Monday afternoon, February 3, 2020 at Providence Health Center in Waco surrounded by his wife and children. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8th at the Abbott Baptist Church, followed by a meal and reception at the Abbott Community Center (ACIO Building). Duane's longtime friend, the Rev. Larry Felkner is officiating. Duane was born August 16, 1955 in Mechanicsville, Iowa, the son of the late Bernard and Evelyn (Volesky) Thuerauf. On April 5, 1980 he was united in marriage to Rebecca "Becky" Boyd in Terrell. Duane was a farmer and truck driver. He enjoyed his long career with Troy Sinkule Farm, Bryan Mynar's Cotton Gin and for over 30 years with Bob Mitchell Auctioneers. Duane enjoyed fishing, tinkering in his shop on his tractors, and farming. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Becky Thuerauf of Abbott; his children, JoAnna Gail Dossman and husband Kelly of Prosper, Randi Jo Moore and husband Casey of Abbott, and William John Thuerauf and Sara Ramirez of Mabank; his brothers, Steven Thuerauf and wife Rhonda and Richard Thuerauf; his sisters, Donna Thuerauf, Darlene Heath and husband Jim, and Brenda Lacey; his grandchildren, Greyson Lee Moore, John Travis Dossman, Emilie Gail Dossman, and Henry Preston Paul Moore; his beloved dog, "Little Dog"; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Abbott Volunteer Fire Department.
