Dorothy Sykora, age 83, of West, passed away late Friday evening, January 22, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (come and go) Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek, Rev. Timothy Vaverek and Rev. John Boiko as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Very limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are required at all services. LIVE STREAM of the service will be provided. Dorothy was born May 25, 1937 in Penelope, the daughter of John and Annie (Matus) Holacka. She was a 1954 graduate of Penelope High School. On November 21, 1955 she was united in marriage to Edmund Sykora in Penelope. Edmund preceded her in death on June 19, 2018. Dorothy was a very faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 and KJZT Society #11. She, along with her husband, owned Sykora Family Ford in West since 1982. Dorothy enjoyed family gatherings. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and attending all their events. She was an avid fan of the St. Mary's Mustangs and West Trojans. Dorothy is also preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Stacy Sykora; a brother-in-law, Alvin Sykora; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Sykora. Survivors include her children, Becky Kalmick and husband Joe of Sugarland, Dianne Feyerherm of West, Ronnie Sykora and wife Sandra of West, Linda Drews and husband Daniel of Corinth, Ken Sykora and wife Carla of West, Pat Sykora and wife Annette of Levelland, Brian Sykora and wife Dawn of West, Sandra Boles and husband Keith of West, Kathy Pustejovsky and husband Phil of Abbott, and Larry Sykora and wife Traci of West; her beloved grandchildren, Nicki Maniscalco, Jackie Clapp, Samantha Kalmick, Christina Hejl and husband Kyle, Andy Feyerherm, Jacob Feyerherm, Tracy Slovak and husband Justin, Eric Sykora and wife Kasey, Danielle Drews, Johanna Drews, Dominic Drews, Kyler Sykora and wife Lexi, Sterling Sykora and wife Genevieve, Avery Sykora, Grant Sykora, Haylee Boyd and husband Zachary, Nicole Campbell and husband Tell, Hannah Sykora, Holden Sykora, Ryan Sykora, Clint Sykora and wife Catia, Magen Nelson and husband John, Luke Bullock, Collin Sykora and wife Caitlin, Casie Helleck and husband Lucas, Adley Sykora, Zack Boles and wife Amanda, Zane Boles and wife Tori, Jordan Boles, Payton Pustejovsky, Preston Pustejovsky, Jacob Smith, Summer Ketchum, Raydin Sykora and Lincoln Sykora; 22 great grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Sykora; brother-in-law, Harry Joe Sykora; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are past and present employees of Sykora Family Ford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
