Dorothy Sembera, age 74, of Leroy, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, June 8, 2022 at Providence Hospital in Waco.
Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2022 at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel.
Dorothy was born December 31, 1947 in Waco, the daughter of the late Rudolf and Dorothy (Steinocher) Gajdosik. She was a 1966 graduate of West High School. On November 25, 1967 she was united in marriage to Alvin Sembera in West. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and KJZT Society #11. She was a homemaker and devoted mother, and retired from Reed's Flowers prior to working at Michelle's House of Flowers. Dorothy enjoyed crafting, oil painting, and collecting dolls. She loved spending time with family, especially for the holidays.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Alvin Sembera of West; her children, Kyle Sembera of Arlington, Kristie and Greg Athens of Haltom City, Paula Dimerson of Round Rock, Patricia and Lindrell Taylor of Pflugerville, Jason and Jennifer Sembera of Penelope, and Shelly and Cruz Trevino of Waco; her sister, Evelyn Wedeking and husband Richard of Robinson; her grandchildren, Ashleigh and husband Andrew, Gage, Reese, Paige, Venee, Prai'le, Lindrell III, Andrea, and Jacob; her great-grandchildren, Belle and Nevaeh; pets, JR, Missy, and Ruby; business partner and friend, Barbara Miller; niece, Sarah and husband Josh; and many other relatives and friends.
