Dorothy Jean Glatter, age 88, of West, passed away Saturday morning, February 12, 2022 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. John Boiko as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Dorothy was born January 12, 1934 in West, the daughter of William "Hat" and Synthie (Oden) Herring. She attended West schools and TSTC where she obtained a certificate in Upholstery. On April 24, 1954 she was united in marriage to Raymond Glatter in West. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. She was a homemaker as well as a seamstress for Wolf's Manufacturing in West and Hillsboro, worked for J.D. Package Hardware in Tours, and also refinished and upholstered furniture for many people in the area. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, woodworking, cooking, baking, fishing, camping, and feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Brenda Glatter; granddaughters, Jessica Urban and Tracy Glatter; a son-in-law, Anthony Urban; brothers, Vernon Herring and Billie Herring; and a sister, Betty Ermis. Survivors include her beloved husband of 68 years, Raymond Glatter Sr. of West; children, Beverly Glatter, Raymond J. Glatter Jr. and wife Michelle, Mary Urban, Synthie Dulock and husband Dennis, Carl Glatter and wife Laura, Alice Boen and husband David, and Janet Cammack and husband Mike, all of West; a sister, Delois Earl; a brother, Paul Herring and wife Darlene; 26 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are her grandsons, Brian Pankonien, Jeremy Pankonien, Stephen Pankonien, Thomas Glatter, Gregory Dulock, Simon Dulock, Carl Glatter Jr., Hayden Glatter, Matthew Glatter, and Ashton Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
