Doris Mitchell

Doris (Silva) Mitchell, age 56, of Hillsboro, formerly of West, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Shawntay Owens officiating.

Doris was born October 29, 1966 in Berlin, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joe and Jutta (Greiner) Silva. She was a 1985 graduate of West High School. Doris was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She worked as a retail manager for many years.  Doris enjoyed gardening, cooking, being outdoors, and making people laugh. She loved her family, especially her sons.

Doris is preceded in death by her father, Joe Silva, and a brother, Jerry Silva.

Survivors include her mother, Jutta Kuehne of West; sons, Samuel Mitchell of West, Ben Smith of Axtell, and Scott Smith of Waco; her siblings, Barbara Dawkins and husband Ricky, Jr. of Hillsboro, Rose Riddle of Grandview, and Harry Joe Silva and wife Jackie of Oshkosh, WI; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Mission Waco Meyer Center.
