Doris Glatter, age 80, of Waco, passed away early Saturday morning, June 6, 2009 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin Cemetery. Doris was born July 30, 1928 the daughter of Dick and Elsie (German) Pickens. She attended Waco schools and was a graduate of La Vega High School. On September 9, 1972 she was united in marriage to Anton "Tony" Glatter in Waco. Doris was a housewife and homemaker. She was a faithful member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. Doris was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2148 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post No. 121 Ladies Auxiliary, where she formerly served as Chaplain. She enjoyed knitting, collecting dolls, and gambling. Her parents and a brother-in-law, Mike Glatter Jr. all preceded her in death. Survivors include her beloved husband of 36 years, Anton "Tony" Glatter of Waco; a sister, Patsy Arney; a brother, Van Pickens; three sisters-in-law, Irene Mueller, Evelyn Gauer, and Leona Weinberger; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are David Weinberger, Steve Weinberger, Michael Weinberger, John Weinberger, Derrick Hurtt, and Boonie Witt. Honorary pallbearers are past and present ladies auxiliary members of the V.F.W. Post No. 2148 and American Legion Post No. 121. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice.
