Donna Nors

Donna Sue Nors, age 78, of Ross, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, September 5, 2017 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donna was born May 2, 1939 in Livingston, the daughter of Thomas C. King and Mary (Heddins) Matthews. She was a graduate of Grand Saline High School. On August 20, 1960 she was united in marriage to Henry J. Nors Jr. in Abbott. Henry preceded her in death on January 1, 2005. Donna was a dispatcher for DK Ambulance Service in Waco for over 20 years before going to work for Car Connection in Ross and retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Tokio Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary. Donna was also a member of the Ross Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo and collecting birds, especially Cardinals. She loved spending time with her family and playing Poker with her sons. Donna is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joe Matthews; and a sister, Mildred Keith. Survivors include her children, Larry Nors and wife Robbie of Victoria, Gary Nors and wife Lydia of West, Marsha Booth and husband Randy of Waco, Jimmy Nors and wife Heidi of Providence Village, and John Nors and wife Denise of West; sisters, Joyce King and Janet King; grandchildren, Ryan Byrd, Joey Nors and wife JoAnna, Britoni Adams and husband Jay, Garrett Nors and wife Kaitlin, Blake Nors, Lance Nors, Justin Schwettmann and wife Linsey, Tamara Schwettmann and husband Jared Pate, Shane Schwettmann, Jennifer Morrison and Chase Katz, Brooke Morrison and Andrew Dulock, Tanner Nors and Brianna Darr, and Robyn Nors; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active and honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tokio Baptist Church or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
