Donna Lynn Shirey

Donna Lynn Shirey, age 54, of Gholson, passed away early Tuesday evening, May 12, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Gholson, with Rev. James Stevens officiating. Private burial will follow at Starr Cemetery near Elkhart, TX. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Donna was born August 29, 1960 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Bobby R. and Glenda (Starr) Shirey. She graduated from West High School in 1978 prior to attending Texas State Technical College. Donna was a customer service representative for the City of Waco. She also worked for the State of Texas in Dallas. Donna enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and taking care of animals. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gholson. Survivors include her mother, Glenda Matthews and husband Kirby of Gholson; sisters, Carol Jean Shirey and Marlys Ann Stewart and husband Richard; an aunt, Carol Starr; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
