Donald Ray Pruett, age 74, of Elm Mott, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, July 8, 2020 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2020 at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, with Rev. Jeff Richter officiating. Don was born February 20, 1946 in Waco, the son of the late Claude and Josephine (Barber) Pruett. He attended University High School in Waco. On October 28, 1978 he was united in marriage to Jessie Mae Woodlock in Hewitt. Jessie Mae preceded him in death on April 1, 2011. Don worked for Davis Iron Works in Waco for many years prior to medically retiring in 2011. He enjoyed racing pigeons, golfing, fishing and was an avid fan of the Baylor Bears. He was a member of the former Waco Pigeon Club. Survivors include his daughters, Darlene Odum and husband B.J. of Moody, Connie Blenden and husband Rick of Speegleville, Lana Ivie and husband Chad of Hewitt, and Shelley Tompkins and husband Howard of West; two grandsons that they raised as their own, Luke Adam Stanton Jr. and wife Amber of Elm Mott and Thomas Allen Stanton of Waco; his sisters, Claudia Scarbrough, Michelle Lionberger, and Delores Shelton; grandchildren, Nathan, Tyler, Christian and husband Ryan, Rachel and husband Josh, Joshua, Spencer and wife Deserae, Shawn, Aaron and wife Tori, David and wife Sara, Fellicia and Charlotte; 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
