Donald Ray Huffhines

Donald Ray Huffhines, age 83, of Ross, passed away late Thursday night, January 27, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at the West Church of Christ, with Minister Bob Martin officiating. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mr. Huffhines was born December 18, 1927 in Richardson, the son of John Samuel and Ola Mae (Christy) Huffhines. He attended schools in Richardson and Troy. On December 21, 1947 he was united in marriage to Eunice Marie Bulls in Belfalls. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2005. Donald owned the Dairyland Fast Food Restaurant in McGregor before buying and operating the Twin Texaco Truck Stops in Ross. After selling that business in the early 1990's he started the All Tex Cylinder Heads Company in 1992. He was a faithful member of the West Church of Christ. Donald is also preceded in death by his parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Wanda Huffhines, and a sister, Mary Morrow. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Johnson of McGregor; three sons, Bruce Huffhines and wife Paula and Mark Huffhines and wife Bridgett, all of Ross, and Kenneth Huffhines and wife Sylvia of San Antonio; a sister, Minnie Lancaster; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Heath Huffhines, Jason Huffhines, David Huffhines, John Johnson, Trent Huffhines, Jennifer Kinnear, Craig Huffhines, Matthew Huffhines, Kelly Huffhines, Major Huffhines, Jett Huffhines and Jordan Huffhines. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Church of Christ.
