Donald R. Maynard

Donald R. Maynard, age 64, of Elm Mott, passed away late Sunday evening, August 8, 2010 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A Rosary will be recited and Funeral Services held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Donald was born August 20, 1945 in Malone, the son of George and Ella Mae (Monthie) Maynard. He attended Abbott schools. On September 18, 1965, he was united in marriage to Martha Hutyra in Abbott. Donald was a truck driver and also worked for General Tire and Rubber Company. He was presently employed by Pearson Construction, where he has worked for several years. Donald enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also loved his dogs, Oscar, Winston and Cory. He also loved spending time with his family. Donald was a member of the National Rifle Association. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Martha Maynard of Elm Mott; two sons, Dwayne Maynard and girlfriend, Jamie Benedittine of Chalk Bluff and Jeff Maynard of Elm Mott; two brothers, Jerry Maynard and wife JoAnn, of West and Kenneth Maynard of Abbott; two sisters, Georgia Lewis and husband Al, of Ft. Worth and Polly Killough and husband Bill of West; a granddaughter, Megan Kuykendall and husband John of Hubbard; two great grandchildren, Allanah Kuykendall and Katy "Poopsie" Kuykendall; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Cody Mathis, Brian Maynard, Leonard Graham, Henry Graham, Andy Hutyra, and Ronald Hutyra. Honorary pallbearers are John Kuykendall, Jim Williams, and his Pearson Construction Co-Workers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Happy Endings Animal Rescue.
