Donald Lee Bartley, Sr.

Donald Lee Bartley Sr., age 61, of Hillsboro, passed away late Saturday afternoon, August 24, 2013 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Bold Springs Cemetery with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Donald was born April 28, 1952 in Hillsboro, the son of Travis Edwin and Pearlene (Warren) Bartley. He attended schools in Hillsboro and Abbott. On May 2, 1985, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue Densman in Hillsboro. Donald set up concrete walls for Gates Precast in Hillsboro. He also had worked for Town Squares Furniture for many years and Walmart in Hillsboro. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching western movies. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roy D. Bartley; and two sisters, Betty Ann Murphy and Barbara Wiese. Survivors include his beloved wife of 29 years, Carolyn Bartley of Hillsboro; two sons, Donald Bartley Jr. and wife Lisa of Waco and Danny Thompson and wife Ginger of Hillsboro; five daughters, Karen Long and husband Michael, Kristin Harrison and husband Ryan, Rebecca Flores, Jessica Harris and husband Deric and Amanda Lasiter, all of Hillsboro; three brothers, Edwin Bartley and wife Virginia, Tommy Bartley, and Travis Bartley and wife Joyce; three sisters, Ellen Allen, Linda Neal and Diana Miller; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Bartley; 17grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
