Donald Horn, age 83, of Aquilla, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 28, 2014 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at First Baptist Church in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Bend Cemetery near Aquilla. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Donald was born September 16, 1931 near Smith Bend in Bosque County, the son of William Thomas and Charlsie Loveless (Gregory) Horn. He attended schools in Clifton and Aquilla. On August 19, 1950 he was united in marriage to Polly Ann Ryno in Aquilla. Donald was a farmer and rancher most of his life. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in West where he served as a Deacon and Usher. Donald enjoyed fishing, rodeos and attending his son's sports activities. He especially loved visiting with his family and friends. Donald is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Donnie Michael Horn. Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Polly Horn of Aquilla; two brothers, Harlon Jay Horn and Billy Ray Horn and wife Gladys; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Randy Ryno, Tommy Ryno, Shawn Henderson, Ronnie Horn, Kevin Stone, Blake Stone, Will Stone, Billy Pavelka, Richard Pavelka, Scott Myers, Jeremy Horn and Jeremy Myers. Honorary pallbearers are the First Baptist Church of West Deacons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
