Don R. Dworacek

Don R. Dworacek, age 61, of Axtell, formerly of West, died very peacefully early Monday morning, June 12, 2006 at West Rest Haven. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Vincent Chacko, IMS officiating. Mr. Dworacek was born on August 19, 1944 in McLennan County, the son of Helen Dworacek. He attended schools in the Penelope area. On January 14, 1967, he was united in marriage to Audrey Loyce Shows in Edna. He worked as a truck driver for Young Brothers Construction Company in Waco for several years until his recent illness. Don never met a stranger and enjoyed outdoor barbecues where he loved joking and having fun with family and friends. He loved driving his tractor on the farm and working in the garden. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Audrey Dworacek of Axtell; one son, Donnie Dworacek Jr. of Axtell; his mother, Helen Polasek of West; three brothers-in-law, James Shows of College Station, Raymond Shows and wife Marie of Port Lavaca and Darwin Shows and wife Sallie of Splendora; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
