Dolores Otto, age 84, of West, passed away Monday evening, February 22, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. A private family rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation (come and go) until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 for family and extended family only at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Will Straten as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery near West. Very limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are required at all services. Dolores was born February 19, 1937 in Leroy, the daughter of George and Agnes (Podsednik) Straten. She was a 1956 graduate of West High School. On February 8, 1958 she was united in marriage to Hugo Otto in Tours. Hugo preceded her in death on March 18, 1987. Dolores was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court #829, KJZT Society #45 in Tours, and St. Elizabeth's Altar Society in Tours. She was director overseeing operation of the cafeteria at West High School for more than 30 years before retiring in 2003. Dolores enjoyed watching sports, working crossword puzzles, gardening, and cooking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dolores is also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, George Straten, Vernon Straten, Herman Straten, and Reynold Straten. Survivors include her children, Michael Otto and wife Clair of West, Lynette Payne and husband Cappy of Plano, David Otto and wife Janice of Leroy, and Janet Chudej and husband Kenny of West; brothers, David Straten and wife Dorothy, Johnny Straten and wife Brenda, and Robert Straten and wife Linda; sisters, Patsy Halamik, Rita Jurek, Annette Bettge and husband Bill, and Virginia Bartosh and husband E.J.; a sister-in-law, Charlene Heitmiller; grandchildren, Natalie Fontenot and husband Rich, Rachel Ramsey and husband Johnny, Rebecca Wise and husband Kevin, Hanna Nacol and husband Julian, Stephanie Carr and husband Preston, Brad Payne and wife Mandie, Shannon Cameron and husband Charles, Travis Otto, Andi Otto, Amber Simmons and husband Nat, and Clint Chudej and fiancee Tara Croford; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Travis Otto, Brad Payne, Clint Chudej, Kevin Wise, Charles Cameron, Preston Carr, Johnny Ramsey, Rich Fontenot, Julian Nacol, and Nat Simmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth's Altar Society or St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours.
