Diane (Sulak) Wilson, age 82, of West, passed away Friday night, December 8, 2023 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Hillcrest in Waco.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Monday, December 18, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.
Diane was born in West, the daughter of the late Charlie and Angeline (Snokhous) Sulak. She was a 1959 graduate of Reicher Catholic High School in Waco. She studied Nursing at McLennan Community College and the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, and received a Master’s Degree in Biology from Pan American University where she also taught Nursing. In 1975 she was united in marriage to Dr. Eric Wilson who preceded her in death earlier this year. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years including at Scott & White and at her husband's medical practice.
She was a member of the Czech Educational Foundation of Texas (CEFT) board of directors, the McLennan-Hill Chapter of the Czech Heritage Society, Texans of Czech Ancestry (TOCA), and the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. Diane enjoyed playing and teaching piano, listening to rock and roll, reading books on a vast range of topics, researching genealogy, taking care of her animals, and travel, especially road trips to the desert southwest.
Survivors include her three children, Richard Wilson, Carol Wilson, and Diane "Dee Dee" Wilson, all of West; her brothers, Raymond Sulak and wife Rosalee of Mansfield, and Charles Sulak of Brenham; her aunt, Clarice Snokhous; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central Texas, West EMS, Gholson Volunteer Fire Department, or the History of West Museum.
