Diana Berger, age 58, of West, passed away early Thursday evening, March 5, 2009 in West. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West by Janice Kaluza, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. Diana was born on September 27, 1950 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Frank Rudolph and Danelle (Urbish) Mynar. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School and West High School. On September 1, 1969, she was united in marriage to Gary Wayne Berger in West. In her earlier years, Diana worked as a secretary for the Chilton Credit Bureau, Command Aire, and the Rohan Company in Waco for several years. She loved children and opened the Tours Daycare and ran it for over fifteen years and then Little Shepherd Daycare in West for a short time. Diana worked diligently as a volunteer for the Mary Queen of Peace Center and helped to open the former Divine Mercy Bookstore. She was a homemaker and dearly loved spending time with family especially her grandson, Truston and all her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed taking care of her five dogs, Aerial, Gabriel, Sparky, Lady, and Abby; going to Pizza House; gambling in Louisiana; working in her flower garden; and, in her earlier years, riding her Honda motorcycle. Diana was a very faithful member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours where she taught C.C.E. for several years and was a member of St. Elizabeth's Altar Society. She also was a member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge 6 in Cottonwood and K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11 in West. Diana is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Shelly Diane Berger; a brother, Frank Joe Mynar; and father-in-law, Wilfred A. Berger. Survivors include her beloved husband of 39 years, Gary Berger; a son, Michael Wayne Berger; a grandson, Truston Berger; mother-in-law, Dorothy Berger, all of Tours; two brothers, David Mynar and wife Janet of Hewitt and Michael Mynar and wife Natalie of Weatherford; four sisters, Carolyn Sumner and husband Ron of Houston, Patty Dragoo and husband Cody, Susan Miller and husband James, and Cindy Kubacak and husband Tony, all of West; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Corey Price, Jacob Millsap, Cameron Reid, Coy Miller, Travis Mynar and Joshua Mynar. Honorary pallbearer will be George "Chicken" Morgan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's C.C.E. or to the Infant of Prague Prayer Garden in West.
