Dero Louise Davidson

Dero Louise (McMorrough) Davidson, age 99, of West, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2007, at West Rest Haven. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Bold Springs Cemetery near West, with Terry McElrath officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Davidson was born on August 2, 1908 near Rogers Hill in McLennan County, the daughter of Tom and Nancy (Ryals) McMorrough. She attended Tokio and West schools. On September 29, 1934, she was united in marriage to Alvin Claude Davidson in West. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1988. She worked for Goldstein Migel and Jean Marie Dress shop as a sales clerk and manager until her retirement in 1972. She loved quilting, gardening, and visiting with her family and friends. Louise was a member of Tokio Baptist Church for many years and was presently a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Travis Davidson and wife Kitty of West; three daughters, Dero Helen Davidson of Schweinfurt, Germany, Nancy Balch and husband Bill of Hewitt, and Barbara Robinson of Tomball; one sister, Orelia Davidson of Texarkana; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tokio Baptist Church or West Rest Haven Activity Fund.
