Denise (Polansky) Linch, age 49, of Lorena, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2008 at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West by Janice Kaluza; followed by a visitation until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Denise was born June 12, 1959 in Waco, the daughter of Jimmy J. and Patricia "Patsy" (Ruzicka) Polansky. She attended West Elementary School, St. Mary's School, and graduated with honors from West High School in 1977. On July 26, 1986 she was united in marriage to Michael Dan Linch in West. She received her A.A. degree in business from McLennan Community College, then graduated with honors from Baylor University with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1990. Denise was a Certified Public Accountant and completed hours toward an M.B.A. at Baylor University. She was the assistant county auditor and budget manager for the McLennan County Auditor's Office for the last 7 years. Prior to that she was the budget director for McLennan Community College for 9 years and an executive assistant at American General Insurance Company for ten years. Her first job in high school was working for the Friendship Caf in West. Denise received the 2008 Texas Association of County Auditors Assistant County Auditor Award. She was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Hewitt and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 in West. Denise is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia "Patsy" Polansky and her mother-in-law, Arlene Sanders Linch. Survivors include her beloved husband of 22 years, Michael Dan Linch of Lorena; her father, Jimmy Polansky and his friend Doris Rekieta of West; three sisters, Gail Zaruba and husband Stephen of Katy, Vicki Webb and husband Mike of Elm Mott, and Karen Duncan and husband Richard of Leander; one brother, David Polansky and wife Michele of Leroy; father-in-law, Dan Slater Linch of Waco; brothers-in-law, Charles Arlan Linch of Lubbock and Stuart Trent Linch and wife Cheryl of Willis; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Dustin Webb, Tyler Webb, Stuart Trent Linch, Chad Zaruba, Edward Hoelscher, Harry Kolar, and Charles Arlan Linch. Honorary pallbearers are Oliver Zaruba and the employees of the McLennan County Auditor's Office. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen For The Cure, St. Mary's Parish Center, or Providence Hospice.
