Delphine Machac, age 92, of Abbott, passed away late Sunday afternoon, October 10, 2010 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at West Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Machac was born September 19, 1918 in West, the daughter of Josph and Anne (Turek) Skarpa. She attended the Treadwell School. On October 21, 1941 she was united in marriage to Charlie H. Machac in West. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1995. They operated a family farm in the Abbott area. Delphine was a member of the West Brethren Church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, working in her yard, and baking, she was especially known for her bread buns, kolaches, and bread. Her parents; two brothers, Willie Skarpa and an infant; and three sisters, Mattie Maler, Wilma Janek, and Lillie Maler, also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Willie Mae Kramolis and husband Dan of Abbott; a son, Harry Machac of Abbott; three grandchildren, Terry Kramolis, Tim Kramolis, and Tammie Holecek and husband John; a great grandson, Wyatt Holecek; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Terry Kramolis, Tim Kramolis, Victor Cvikel, Jeff Bladecki, Mike Bole, and Leonard Slamcik. Honorary pallbearers are Tammie Holecek and Wyatt Holecek. Memorials may be made to the Abbott Volunteer Fire Department or to Paw Pals of Hillsboro.
