Deborah Kazda

Deborah "Debbie" Kazda, age 64, of Abbott, passed away Wednesday morning, September 24, 2014 in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Debbie was born October 4, 1949 in Frankfurt, Germany, the daughter of Robert and Ruby (Grant) Cowan. She attended schools in Japan before returning to the states and was a 1968 graduate of Seguin High School. Debbie worked in the Claims Department for Social Security until she retired in 2001. She was an avid Bunco player, enjoyed shopping and taking care of her cats, Tiger and Seymour. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents and a stepson, Chris Kazda. Survivors include her beloved husband of 20 years, Jerry Kazda of Abbott; a son, Ron Nemec and wife Leidimar of Missouri City; a daughter, Michelle Nemec of Waco; stepsons, Daryl Kazda and fianc Denise of West and Gary Kazda and wife Carrie of Waxahachie; a stepdaughter-in-law, Kathleen Kazda of West; sisters, Kay Strickland and husband Ron, Sara Schumann and husband Clyde; step-sister, Ann Dolle and husband Stan; 8 grandchildren, Bethany, Danielle, Parker, Will, Julia, Brooke, Ricky and Clara; her best friend, Theresa Spille; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Carl Schumann, Adam Schumann, Mark Schumann, Daryl Kazda, Gary Kazda and David Neill. Honorary pallbearers are employees of Bobcat Contracting. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the employees of Wesley Woods Healthcare Center, especially Michelle and Holli, and also the employees of Providence Hospice, especially Cindy.
