Debora (Weissinger) Vrba, age 72, of Leroy, passed away Monday afternoon, July 1, 2024 at West Rest Haven.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:30 a.m. Friday until the time of Mass.
Debbie was born January 22, 1952 in Waco, the daughter of Albert and Willie Mae (Jupe) Weissinger. She was a 1970 graduate of La Vega High School. On December 4, 1971 she was united in marriage to Clyde Vrba. After 53 years together, Clyde went to be with the Lord on March 7th of this year. Debbie worked as a custodian for West ISD for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed working in her yard, baking, and cooking. She spent much time visiting with her friends and was known to have never met a stranger. Spending time outdoors brought her joy, as she loved camping and boating. However, Debbie will be greatly remembered as a caretaker for those she loved. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Debbie is also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Antonette "Ann" Straten; sister-in-law, Dorothy Uptmor; and brothers-in-law, Charles Thompson and Herman Straten.
Survivors include her children, Brian Vrba and Kelley Kolar of West, and Tracie and Shane Mayberry of Elm Mott; sister, Carolyn Thompson; grandchildren, Kendra Vrba and Aydan York, Addison Vrba, Kohen Mayberry and Alissa Woodruff, Faith and Andrew Fowler, and Emberlynn Mayberry; great grandson, Hudson Fowler; brother-in-law, Kenneth Uptmor; sister-in-law, Rose and Tommy Svrcek; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Vernon Leuschner, Ricky Jupe, Kevin Jupe, David Jupe, James Jupe, Kohen Mayberry, Andrew Fowler, and Aydan York.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her grandchildren's college fund.
