Debbie Gifford

Debbie Gifford, age 63, of Gholson, passed away early Monday morning, March 23, 2015 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Rev. James Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Debbie was born September 3, 1951 in Waco, the daughter of Gene and Norma (Cammack) Sulak. She attended school in West and graduated from West High School in 1970. On May 30, 1970 Debbie was united in marriage to Jimmy Lewis Gifford in Elm Mott. She worked for most of her life for Gifford Dairy and was Secretary and Bookkeeper for Jimmy Gifford CPA. Debbie served on the Board of Trustees for Gholson Cemetery as Treasurer. She enjoyed sewing, working with crafts and playing with her grand dog, Ellie. She especially loved spending time with her family. Debbie is preceded in death by her mother, Norma Sulak and an infant daughter. Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Jimmy Gifford of Gholson; a son, Mark Gifford and his wife Leigh of Austin; her father, Gene Sulak of West; a sister, Gail Herbelin and husband Benny; nephews, Brad Herbelin and wife Sara and sons, and Brent Herbelin and wife Amber and sons; a close family friend, Blake Gassaway; her grand dog, Ellie; and several other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Mitch Vaughn, Brad Herbelin, Brent Herbelin, Jason Olson, Jason Thomas and Phillip Tankersley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gholson Cemetery Association or the Humane Society of Central Texas.
