Deanell Crawley, age 70, of Mt. Calm, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 15, 2022 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A vigil service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday by Deacon Denver Crawley at the Church of the Nativity, BVM in Penelope, followed by a rosary and visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022 also at the Church of the Nativity in Penelope, with Rev. Brijil Lawrence as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Denver Crawley. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery near Penelope. Deanell was born November 8, 1951 in Dallas, the daughter of Allen and Deavona (Lam) Weaver. She attended Quinlan High School. On December 29, 1969 she was united in marriage to Denver Crawley in Wills Point. Deanell worked alongside her husband on the ranch, at Crawley's Country Beef, and was very supportive of his ministry as a Deacon in the church. Their love and commitment to each other gave them the blessings of three children of whom they were very proud and Deanell served as a stay at home mother to watch them grow up. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity, BVM in Penelope. Deanell enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, canning, roller skating, and Native American art. She loved spending time with her children and sitting on the porch watching her grandchildren playing outside and fishing on the farm. She will truly be missed by all of her family. Deanell is preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, M. C. Greer; a granddaughter, Faustina Agnes Crawley; and a brother, Bobby Greer. Survivors include her beloved husband of 52 years, Deacon Denver Crawley of Mt. Calm; her children, E.J. Crawley and wife Mette of Denmark, Shea Norcross and husband Shane of Mexia and Janay Mullan and husband William of Conroe; her grandchildren, J.T. and LaNelle Norcross, Allie Norcross, Christopher and Mardi Norcross, Elijah Norcross, Michael Mullan, Anthony Mullan, Jessica Mullan, and Lauren Mullan; her great grandchildren, Dawson, Brooke, Seth, Jaxson, Carson, Eden and Micah; a brother, Daral Greer and wife Laurna; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are her grandsons, J.T. Norcross, Christopher Norcross, Elijah Norcross, Dawson Norcross, Michael Mullan, Anthony Mullan In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
