David W. Gouldman

David W. Gouldman, age 64, of Laguna Park, passed away early Monday morning, February 1, 2010 at his residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery near Laguna Park, conducted by American Legion Post No. 322 of CLifton. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. David was born on November 26, 1945 in Deer Park, the son of Reuben and Carrie Mae (Browning) Gouldman. He attended schools in Clifton and graduated from Clifton High School in 1963 before attending 4-C Business College and MCC. On November 25, 1965 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Lichnovsky in West. David worked for the Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Waco for 21 years as a corrugated department supervisor. He then worked in highway construction for Young Brothers Construction and was a farmer and rancher. David was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Clifton and a Director of the Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery Association. David enjoyed reading, traveling, and panning for gold. Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Carolyn Gouldman of Laguna Park; three daughters, Carol Kilgore and husband Harvey of West, Lisa Michel of Waco and Jennifer Clement and husband Jay of Bowie; seven grandchildren, James Gouldman and wife Deanna, Carrie Michel, Veronica Lenart, Misty Michel, Allison Clement, Stephanie Clement, and LB Clement; a great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Gouldman; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
