David Patton

David Patton, age 68, of Gholson, passed away Thursday evening, August 24, 2023 at his residence.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Gholson.

David was born August 16, 1955 in Borger, Texas, the son of Mary Helen (Rhodes) and the late Leonidas Patton. He was a 1973 graduate of Port Naches-Groves High School. On March 10, 1990 he was united in marriage to Joan Waters in Pasadena. David proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He worked for TSTC and the YMCA in Waco for many years. David enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, canoeing, woodworking, and visiting with friends. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 33 years, Joan Patton of Gholson; his mother, Mary Patton; his children, Randi Jones of Clifton, Sean Patton of Port Neches, Will and Sherrie Roland of Richwood, and Becca Patton and Justin Webre of Gholson; his grandchildren, Breanna, Kylie, Hunter, Phoebe, Kemper, William, Gage, Tate, Alexis, Trevor, and River; a sister, Brenda Patton and boyfriend Glenn Faul; a brother, Andy and Cathy Patton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West VFW Post #4819 or the Salvation Army.
