David C. Skinner

April 29, 1955 — June 8, 2007

David Craig Skinner, age 52, of West went to be with the Lord early Friday afternoon, June 8, 2007 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, with Rev. Ann Hitt officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. David was born April 29, 1955 in Laredo, the first of three sons born to Jim and Peggy (Hawkins) Skinner. David attended school in DeSoto and was a 1974 graduate of DeSoto High School. He then went on to attend Texas State Technical College in Waco where he received an associate degree in industrial maintenance. David then worked as a plant operator for Crown Petroleum in Pasadena for over ten years. He was very outgoing, always into something, had a very contagious laugh, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, especially with his family. He will be truly missed and the void in his family's life will never be filled. Survivors include his parents, Jim and Peggy Skinner of West; two brothers, Bill Skinner of Los Angeles, California and Andy Skinner and his wife Kris of Waco; a nephew and niece, Clayton James and Elizabeth Carolyn Skinner; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of West or the charity of your choice.
