David Bajer

David Joseph Bajer, age 62, of Penelope, passed away early Friday morning, November 10, 2023 at his residence.

The family will receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. until service time  Friday at the funeral home. A Rosary and Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating.

David was born January 15, 1961 in Waco, the son of Frank and Catherine (Flaherty) Bajer. He was a 1979 graduate of Abbott High School. On November 22, 1980 he was united in marriage to Cathy Svrcek in West. David was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. He was a machine operator for Copper Technologies, Cercon, and AmeriTube, all in Hillsboro and Patrick Industries in Waco, until retiring in 2015. David enjoyed working on cars, restoring furniture, working on fishing lures, and riding motorcycles. He loved his grandchildren dearly.

David is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marilyn Bajer; and two brothers, Frank Bajer III and Larry Bajer.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Cathy of Penelope; three daughters, Jamie Neal and husband Allen of Penelope, Kelly Deramee and husband Chris of Malone, and Jessica  Zajicek and husband Joey of Penelope; his grandchildren, Caitlyn Neal, Bailey Neal, Ethan Deramee, Ayden Deramee, Miley Zajicek, Macey Zajicek, and Marley Zajicek; a sister, Linda Kaluza and husband Ronnie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Penelope Volunteer Fire Department or the American Heart Association.
